Environmental Lab

Environmental Health Laboratory Services

Our state-of-the-art laboratory specializes in assessing environmental pollutants and harmful factors within mining and related industries. With rigorous technical evaluations by the Environmental Protection Organization, we proudly hold a national trust certificate across water, soil, and air sectors. Additionally, we’ve secured a level 3 license from the Ministry of Health, Medicine, and Education, enabling us to provide occupational health services nationwide.

Our comprehensive services include:

  1. Pollutant Sampling and Analysis:
    • Precise identification and measurement of workplace and environmental health pollutants.
    • Monitoring pollutant levels in stack, air, water, wastewater, soil, industrial solid waste, oil, and living organisms’ tissues.
  2. Risk Assessment:
    • Thorough evaluation of work environment risks.
  3. Sample Identification:
    • Expert identification of unknown samples and essential oils.
  4. Chemical and Microbial Analysis:
    • Assessment of physical and chemical parameters.
    • Detection of pesticides (OP, OCP), PCBs, PAHs, TPH, HAA, BTEX, and VOCs.

Description of services to be provided

Our cutting-edge laboratory specializes in monitoring and measuring environmental parameters across three critical sectors: water and wastewater, soil and sediment, and air and stack emissions.

1-1. Water and Wastewater Sector

In this sector, we offer precise identification and measurement of physical and chemical parameters, including:

  • Anions (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, sulfate, cyanide, sulfide, chloride)
  • BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
  • Phenol, ammonia, cleaning materials, and detergents
  • Oil and grease
  • TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) and TSS (Total Suspended Solids)
  • Alkalinity

Additionally, we perform simultaneous heavy metal measurements (up to 40 elements) using an ICP-OES device. Our expertise extends to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as HAA, THM, BTEX, and MTBE, as well as semi-volatile organic compounds like total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAH), phosphorus toxins (OP), organochlorine pesticides (OC), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). We adhere to the national standard ISIRI 1053 for drinking water pollution indicators.

1-2. Soil and Sediment Sector

Our advanced chromatography equipment allows us to measure semi-volatile organic compounds (TPH, PAH, OP, OC, PCBs) in soil and sediment. Simultaneously, we analyze heavy metals using the ICP-OES technique. Additionally, we assess soil texture and determine the percentage of organic matter. The TCLP test is available for soil, sediments and industrial solid waste.

1-3. Air and Stack Sector

In this section, we examine and measure environmental pollutants from ambient air and stacks. Our focus includes:

  • Noise levels
  • Particulate matter
  • Clean air gases
  • Stack emissions (including O2, CO2, NOx, SO2, CO)

Our laboratory holds a level 3 occupational health license from the Ministry of Health. We meticulously measure harmful chemical and physical factors in the workplace, providing valuable insights and recommendations. Parameters assessed include:

  • Noise levels
  • Local and general lighting
  • Vibration
  • WBGT thermal stress index
  • Non-ionizing rays (UV and IR)
  • Ionizing rays (X, gamma, and beta)
  • Electromagnetic fields
  • Dust analysis (mineral materials and products)
  • Gases, vapors, fumes

We are the sole registered laboratory in Iran under the Stockholm Convention (POP). Our gas chromatography technique with ECD detector allows us to accurately identify and measure polychlorobiphenyls (PCBs) in electrical transformer oil within the ppm and ppb concentration range.
