IMPRC introduction
The plan to establish Iran Mineral Processing Research Center is one of the projects to increase the capacity of applied mineral processing research according to the classification number 40798299, which was approved by the executive body and the Program and Budget Organization in 1990 and after providing credit in the same year, initial measure was begun. This is one of the planned development projects for the first five years after the revolution.
Preliminary study for the construction of Mineral Processing Research Center was started since 1988 and had been approved in the first development plan and had continued its activities since the end of the first plan with the new classification number 31307207. Until 1994, studies and selection of foreign consultants had been carried out, and in practice, executive contracts had been concluded since the second half of 1994, and the main executive works had been started since the beginning of 1995.
From 1990 to 2006, the center was under the supervision of the Ministry of Industries and Mines and since 1986 it has been a subsidiary of the Organization for the Development and Renovation of Mines and Mining Industries of Iran.
General specifications of Iran Mineral Processing Research Center:
Iran Mineral Processing Research Center is located in Kavosh Research Town, 60 km west of Tehran, on the Karaj-Qazvin freeway.
The center has 4 laboratory units including chemistry Lab, mineralogy Lab, mineral processing Lab., and environment, safety and occupational health Lab. and a semi-industrial unit with a capacity of 2 tons per hour.
For this center, 1.8 MW of energy and land with an area of 10 hectares and with an infrastructure of 27000 square meters has been allocated for the construction of spaces according to the following table:
